Meggs Hannes is the founder & manager of the Lancefield & District Farmers’ Market. She is particularly interested in local food systems & is currently working on two new projects; the Malmsbury Village Farmers Market which started in September 2019 & a market garden for CSA (subscription) distribution.
Meggs was the Weekly Times Shine Awards winner for 2017 for her contribution to the farmers markets movement, assisting & managing new farmers’ markets being created across the Macedon Ranges region. Meggs also worked for the Rotary Club of Euroa, establishing another authentic farmers’ market in the Strathbogies region.
Meggs lives in Newbridge with her two children & partner on a small farm that they are currently setting up to farm regeneratively for family food production & community supply.
Meggs is pleased to be invited to contribute to the Kyneton Town Square Co-Operative as she sees many opportunities for grass roots production, community involvement & cross pollination with other community organisations that will further galvanise community resilience in Kyneton into the future.
