Sent: Monday, 30 April 2018 5:07 PM To: ‘Geoff Barrett’ Cc: Lisa Ohlmus Subject: Public Meeting in Kyneton Thank you for this invitation to your public meeting but I’m unable to attend. I understand the passion of individuals and other community groups regarding the future of the old Kyneton Primary School site. That’s why I secured funding for the Macedon Ranges Shire Council to undertake consultation with the community to develop a plan for the site’s future. While this public meeting is being promoted to ‘Stop the School Sell-Off’ it is important to note that the old Kyneton Primary School is not for sale. (our highlighting not the author) As the Kyneton Town Square Reference Group would be aware, community feedback on three high level options for the site is now being incorporated into the next stage of planning. There have been many voices and interests in this discussion, however, it is clear there is a shared preference for the site to be the new community heart of the town – a vision I wholeheartedly support. I would like to encourage the Kyneton Town Square Reference Group to continue to engage with the Shire led consultation process as we work together to ensure a viable and vibrant future for the old Kyneton Primary School site. If you would like me to lodge the Kyneton Town Square Reference Group petition in the Legislative Assembly, please contact Lisa in my office to make the necessary arrangements.
