Glynn Lewis

After discussion with and at the request of Rob Bakes the following information is provided for your assessment and use.

From the advice provided the intention is to add my name to a list of persons to form a reference panel for the Kyneton and District Town Square Co-Op and to then use that reference panel to support applications to others for support.

As you can see from the following resume I am now retired from professional life and whilst I still retain my qualifications I am no longer a registered building practitioner because PI insurance is not available.

As a retired professional I would now like to provide volunteer assistance to the community where my experience as a building surveyor may be of use to groups such as the Kyneton and District Town Square Co-Op. Any support will be limited to my own field of experience and assuming the timing of the request for information is mutually convenient to myself and the Co-OP.

Community groups such as the Co-Op need to be support because they can provide vital local knowledge and experience in keeping and maintaining assets in small towns. The aim of the Co- Op to make use of a heritage building and surrounds needs to be encouraged so that significant historical towns do not lose their character.

My registration as a building practitioner in the categories of draftsperson and civil engineer were both cancelled last year, at my request, because work had not been undertaken in those categories for a number of years.

My registration as a building practitioner in the categories of building surveyor and building inspector have both been suspended due to professional indemnity insurance not being available, which is currently a common issue for a number of building surveyors.
