Bill Nuttall

I have deep connections with Kyneton and the surrounding district and I am excited at the prospect of contributing to the cultural life of this town. I was born in Kyneton as was my father and grandfather. I attended Kyneton Primary School and Kyneton High School.

I think the that Kyneton Primary School precinct offers a real opportunity to contribute to the cohesive development of Kyneton so long as it is reused creatively and for the benefit of Kyneton’s citizens.

Niagara Galleries was established in 1978 by William Nuttall when he was only 22 years old. With an interest in early modernist art, the young Nuttall set about building a gallery with a reputation not only for showing artists at the cutting edge of current practice, but one which also celebrated and respected the modernist roots of contemporary art.

William Nuttall is a past President and former board member of the Melbourne Art Foundation, which he helped to establish in 1988. He is also an approved valuer for the Australian Government’s Cultural Gifts Program and a recognized expert in his field. Nuttall is also a Foundation Member of the National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria, Queensland Art Gallery, and a Contemporary Benefactor of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney and the Art Gallery of South Australia.
